# Versioning

> What can change under /v1, and what won't.

This promise covers the fields documented in the API reference. If you build on those, and your code ignores fields it doesn't recognise, changes under `/v1` won't break your integration.

Under `/v1`, Reclosed may add fields to responses. It won't rename or remove a documented field, or change what one means. A breaking change would ship as a new version, `/v2`, with `/v1` still supported alongside it.

A response can also contain fields the API reference doesn't list. They aren't covered by this promise and can change or disappear without notice, so don't depend on them.
